Five months ago (two years, eleven months in political memory equivalent years), I found myself defending Obama to people I know who believed some of the outrageous rumors and made some mythical leaps in order to bash the O. I said there is PLENTY to hit Obama with on his political views that we don't need to resort to the low-blow punched that came with the rumors.
Then came "typical white person"-gate. Well, it was more like a bump in the road. I swore I would never defend the man again. He made that statement with almost no question of him, and most have forgotten it. Had he made a similar statement, McCain would have been run out of town and set on fire. To be frank, that royally pissed me off, and I knew it would be a terrible thing for this country for that racist man to be our President.
Last week, however, I let my guard down. Obama's prayer, which was removed from the prayer wall in Jerusalem, was printed by the Israeli, then American, press. I blogged that I felt guilty for reading his private conversation with God, and I thought it shouldn't have been printed.
So of course, I got burned. Obama leaked the damn note himself! While his camp denies it was approved for publication, they don't dispute they sent a copy to the Israeli paper. Why would you send a copy to a newspaper and not expect it to be printed?
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! There won't be a third time.
